Fluxing galvanizing process optimization
Fluxing is a crucial stage in the galvanizing process. It precedes the artifacts’ molten spelter bath treatment. The purpose of fluxing in the galvanizing process is to prepare surfaces for the metallurgical phase by applying a saline layer that facilitates Iron-Zinc bonding.
This is a highly relevant stage, when surface tension during immersion becomes stable, ensuring a stronger bond between both metals. Furthermore, the deposited layering on the materials creates a solid protection from oxidation caused by contact with the atmosphere in the subsequent drying period achieved in a specific furnace.
Fluxing is an important step for the entire production success that can facilitate the reacting creation of a protective film that prevents any rusting pending the completion of the galvanizing process.
